Prof. Dr.Yusuf Qardhawi selanjutnya melabelkan Hizbullah, Iran dan Russia sebagai "musuh umat Islam" selain Parti Lubnan yang turut mengumumkan penyertaan mereka dalam peperangan di Syria.
Prof. Dr.Yusuf Qardhawi menambah, "Saya menyeru seluruh umat Islam di semua tempat untuk membantu saudara mereka. Tidak masuk akal jika kita membiarkan mereka sedang ribuan sedang berusaha untuk membunuh mereka. Jika saya mempunyai kemampuan nescaya saya akan pergi memerangi bagi mempertahankan mereka (orang awam Syria). Sesiapa yang mempunyai kepakaran dan kebolehan dalam berperang maka hendaklah menggunakannya untuk berperang di sana."

Another of the region’s supreme ironies is that Hamas, supposedly the ‘super-terrorists’ of Gaza, have abandoned Damascus and now support the Gulf Arabs’ desire to crush Assad. Syrian government forces claim that Hamas has even trained Syrian rebels in the manufacture and use of home-made rockets.
