You're Damn Brilliant Dr. M

What is haram in Islam should apply only to Muslims.  As such, non-Muslims cannot be prohibited from doing some things or carrying out activities just because they are haram to Muslims, former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said today.
"We have many different races in this country. We cannot stop people from taking what to them is not haram, (but) for us is haram," he said at the Perdana Leadership Foundation here.
"It is the same with other things which are haram. Muslims must not be involved. Like the lottery.... Muslims who are found buying will be arrested."
Commenting on the sports betting licence re-issued to Ascot Sports recently, Mahathir said what is important now is for the government to ensure the Muslims do not get involved in sports betting.
"To the Muslims, don’t. Until now, we have never allowed Muslims to be involved in betting, but if they are to go to Singapore to get involved, we can’t do anything," he said.
Mahathir said the objections raised by certain quarters against the government’s recent decision to legalise sports betting were more political than religious.
"I think the objections are more political, not so much (because of) Islam," he said, adding that he believed Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng had a political motive when he announced the state government’s decision to prohibit sports betting in the state.
"Lim does not eat pork now because he is good friends with PAS. So, he would not be involved in betting, too," he quipped.

ha ha ha ...Damn you're right Dr. M, thank you for rescuing me from being such a mug. Now i realised I've fooled by the oppositions leaders all this while. They made me believe that it's not good to Muslims & many others of that betting activities but hardly justify all the good it brings to the country when the betting being legalised.  Islam don't allow to bet but still some Muslim are so wished to bet their lucks & still lingering around the prohibited betting outlets .

My oh my.... actually this don't surprise me abit. Just devastated as he is a Muslim. Seemingly like one. Considering he purely meant business, yeah of course, why not we soon legalise all activities of prostitution,  human trafficking, drug,  booze, selling weapons to public, police brutality, street fighting, all other illegal things. Such is life huh? Surely government would get its route one in obtaining more on the tax revenues which would help to fill government coffers. Money, money, money. Hopefully by then they can stop giving lame excuse such as allocating billions RM in subsidies to our own people would soon bankrupt the country in a few years time, instead of admitting the facts we're losing a lot of money due to the mismanagement of the highest order.  Gain more, they'll be misleading more and more, wasting more too. God damn it! Earnestly I beseech of why not we just waste those scumbags instead.

  1. Yang haram tetap haram. Para pemimpin tentunya faham tanggungjawab mereka. Tapi bila minda dan hati dah rosak, huru hara lah rakyat dibawah kepimpinannya...

  2. Yes indeed K.Tie...Pada Hanz personally tak kisah ada banyak outlets atau online betting sites pasal ;(1) hanz tak main jud, (2) keluarga kita pun alhamdulillah tak terpengaruh...Hanz boleh jugak kata "Lantak la pemimpin PAS ke UMNO ke nak lulus untuk kaum lain main judi apa pun."

Bukan depa suruh kita buat maksiat main judi pun.

  3. Hakikat kebijaksanaan
    Hadith :
    Rasulullah s.a.w bersabda yang bermaksud:

”Orang pintar ialah sesiapa yang memuliakan dirinya serta membuat persediaan untuk kehidupan selepas mati, sementara orang bodoh ialah sesiapa yang membiarkan dirinya mengikut hawa nafsu serta mengharapkan cita-citanya dikabulkan oleh Allah.”

    Riwayat at-Tirmidzi
